About Me

Like most people, I've been "taking pictures" for many years.  Whether I used a Kodak Instamatic, a Polaroid OneStep Instant camera, or a Canon 35 mm camera, I've been capturing moments in time since I was a little girl.   For the past few years, I captured many wonderful images using my iPhone.  However, it wasn't until after my darling husband gifted me with my first mirrorless camera (Sony a6600), that I truly began to experience all the creative possibilities that a camera provides.  Now, I'm constantly scouting for photo opportunities.

Being an avid camper and hiker, I spend as much time outdoors as possible.  I have a passion for nature.  Because of that, my photo subjects are usually captured during one of my outdoor excursions, ranging from visits to natural areas and parks to my own backyard.  I love capturing landscapes and the flora and fauna that populate them.  I particularly love macro photography, capturing the tiny worlds and their inhabitants that so often go unnoticed as we make our way along the trail.  As a naturalist, I'm a strong believer in the principles of Leave No Trace and Nature First so I strive to minimize any negative impacts to my photography subjects as well as educate people through my photos.

Of course, I do find my rescue fur babies, Maddie (dog) and Abby Normal (cat), to be quite good muses as well.  So, I sprinkle lots of photos of them in the mix too.

This site is a means for sharing the images that I capture during my travels.  I'm not a professional.  I'd say I'm more of a hardcore hobbyist.  I still have much to learn.  Photography is therapy for me.  I capture images of things and moments that make me happy or generate a sense of awe and wonder.   I hope you will find as much joy in my photos as I found in making them.  Perhaps, you'll want to bring one or two of them into your home!
